Threads Downloader Cookie Policy
Which storage this site uses, why, and how to clear it.
The downloader works without a tracking cookie. This page explains the small amount of browser storage the site does rely on and the control you have over it.
What this site uses
We keep browser storage to the minimum required for the site to work correctly.
- Strictly necessary storage: short-lived values that keep a download request working from the moment you paste a link to the moment the file is delivered.
- Preference storage: your last chosen download quality, so the setting survives a page reload. Held in your browser only.
- Security and abuse prevention: temporary values used to rate-limit automated traffic and keep the service available.
What this site does not use
The following categories are deliberately absent from this website.
- Advertising or retargeting cookies, and third-party ad-network trackers.
- Cross-site tracking pixels or social media tracking tags.
- Cookies that build a profile of you across other websites.
- Any cookie that records which Threads posts you have looked up and ties it to you.
Third-party storage
Downloading media necessarily involves a request to Meta's content-delivery network. That request is governed by Meta's own policies, and any storage they set is outside our control.
Infrastructure providers used for hosting, caching, or abuse prevention may set strictly necessary values on our behalf. These are operational and are not used for advertising.
Managing and clearing storage
You can inspect, clear, or block cookies and local storage at any time from your browser settings. Most browsers expose this under Privacy or Site settings, and every major browser lets you clear data for a single site.
Because nothing on this site depends on tracking, clearing storage will not break the downloader. At most you will need to re-select your preferred quality.
- Chrome: Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies and Site data.
- Firefox: Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Cookies and Site Data.
- Safari: Settings, then Privacy, then Manage Website Data.
- Edge: Settings, then Cookies and site permissions.
Consent
Because this site sets no advertising or analytics trackers, there is no consent banner to dismiss. Strictly necessary storage does not require consent under the ePrivacy Directive or the GDPR.
If we ever introduce non-essential tracking, we will ask for your consent first and update this page before doing so.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy if the way the site works changes. The revision date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. If anything here is unclear, contact us and we will explain it.
